Reduce risk now, prepare for deeper change later
Not every firm is ready to replace its core practice management system.

Contracts may still be live. Cultural confidence may be low. Partners may be concerned about disruption. Yet the cyber and compliance risks of legacy infrastructure remain real.
Transitional Modernisation focuses first on infrastructure risk, without forcing immediate replacement of your existing PMS.
Who this is for
This pathway is appropriate where:
• The current PMS is contractually locked in
• There is significant customisation embedded in the system
• Leadership is cautious about large scale change
• Cyber Essentials certification is not yet in place
• Servers and local infrastructure are ageing
If the firm recognises the risk but needs a phased approach, this provides it.
What changes
On premise identity services are replaced with secure cloud identity under Microsoft 365.
Devices are brought under central management and compliance control.
Email and collaboration move into secure cloud services.
Servers are retired where possible, and remaining legacy systems are hosted securely until replacement.
Existing platforms, including legacy systems such as Eclipse Legal Systems Proclaim, remain in place during this stabilisation phase.
What you achieve
Immediate reduction in cyber exposure.
Clear progress towards Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus.
Improved auditability and access control.
Reduced operational fragility.
A controlled environment from which a future PMS migration can be executed with lower risk and better planning.
This pathway accepts commercial reality while still moving the firm forward.
